C-SAS at the 9th International Water Conference, Dhaka

C-SAS Director Sudeep Chakravarti was invited to speak at the 9th International Water Conference 2024 organized by ActionAid Bangladesh on 25 January 2024 in Dhaka. His topic: "Hydro-Diplomacy in South Asia: An Urgent Imperative."

The talk and presentation discussed the evolving mechanics of such diplomacy involving India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Pakistan, and mapped an emphatic future course. This included initiating active negotiations for a treaty to share Teesta River waters.

C-SAS Intern Abrar Farhan Zaman participated in the conference. C-SAS encourages its interns and associates to actively participate in conferences and seminars and engage with all stakeholders -- an exposure we believe will enhance their futures as active local and global citizens and leaders.
